5 Top tips on looking after your Wedding Flowers during your Wedding day!

You spend so much time, effort and money on choosing your flowers, colour theme and style of your bouquet! so it seems sensible to want to make the most of them. Enjoy them to the full and make them last as long as possible. We have compiled five top tips to help you look after your flowers during your glorious wedding day and to keep them going for longer!

  1. Ask a bridesmaid or your wedding co-ordinator to get a vase ready with water so when your not using your bouquet, you can place it down gently and let your flowers drink water at every opportunity!
  2. Include them as part of the wedding decoration during the wedding breakfast! Pop them next to the cake, or on your feature table!
  3. Don’t spray your flowers with water during the day or for the following days after the wedding. It will encourage brown patches to appear within the flowers.
  4. On the wedding night, keep the bouquet in water and some where cool like a bathroom or garage.
  5. Don’t throw your bouquet! Use one of the bridesmaids bouquets instead!

To make your flowers last even longer so you can enjoy them for many many years to come!! Enquire about our flower preservation services. We can preserve your flowers so you can treasure that memory.

Keys to a Perfect Wedding Fayre Outing!

Did you get engaged over Christmas and New year?? Ohh how exciting! and congratulations by the way!! but....what do you do now? Planning for a wedding can be overwhelming! i know! ive been there and done it! Ive also been on the other side, a supplier attending many wedding shows over the years and talking to so many brides and grooms about their plans!

Wedding shows, fayres and open days are a great way to source information about the different products/packages available to you, to help you work out a budget for your day but also to meet the faces behind the websites and grab a good bargain or discount.

To get the most out of these shows, you have to be savvy! therefore i have listed ten top tips to help you plan a wedding Fayre outing!

1) what fayres to attend?!

If you have an interest in certain venues for your wedding, then check if they  have any upcoming shows. This will be a great opportunity to check out the venue, speak to the wedding co-ordinators - see if they are people you want to work with. Most of the time, they offer discounted packages for booking so you may be able to grab the best deal for your dream wedding. Most venues also have a number of tried and tested suppliers they like to recommend, so its great to see and meet them in person!

2) Who do you take to these shows?

Well thats completely up to you! But I would recommend maybe attending at least 2 shows and tailor each one for who is going with you! Your first show, especially if its at your chosen wedding venue, is best with your partner. It will give you chance to chat about what YOU both want and ideas you have together. This will set a precedent for the wedding day and help you streamline, organise your priorities and what suppliers you want to book.

2nd show is great for that bridal party day out with your bridesmaids or bestmen! Bag yourself VIP tickets and enjoy a glass of bubbly, get excited and have fun!

3)Before you attend..

Check out the suppliers that will be exhibiting at your chosen shows. Give yourself a head start and write a list of ones you definately want to visit and speak to.

4) check the website for the wedding fayre...

..in question, you may be able to pre order tickets for free or cheaper price than buying them on the day you attend.

5) do you have questions you need to ask your potential suppliers?

Write them down before hand so your prepared!

6) start a pinterest board..

..for different colour themes, wedding flowers, styles and items you like. its great for your potential supplier to see what things you like to tailor the package to you.

7) Grab as much information

..as you can while your there - isnt that the point of going? to get ideas and information on whats available?

8) discounts

Many wedding suppliers like to offer discounts to bookings made during the show. If you have done your research before hand, you will be in a better position to decide to book on a wedding show day and therefore at a discount!

9)After the shows

Schedule an afternoon to go through all your leaflets collected, notes and supplier details. Recycle any leaflets you do not need and keep the ones your interested in! pop them in your wedding folder and schedule a time to contact the supplier if you need more information. When booking, always mention where you saw the supplier! they may honour any discounts offered on the day of the fayre! We do!

10) and lastly! enjoy them!

Do not get overwhelmed and feel like you have to book and have everything you see!!
